Summer Colours

As we move into summer up here in the tropics Poinciana trees begin to flower adding bright splashes of colour to the landscape!

Polarised sunglasses or filters on a camera lens just add to the effect. Thought I would try out my new 5DII!

Primary Colours

Due to other commitments, it seems like ages since I have picked up my camera gear & headed out the door! In fact my trusty Canon is sitting on the table  looking at me with what could be called disgust blazing out of that single eye!

Today, I have the time and the urge to go but looking out the window and the light is about as flat, dull & uninspiring  as it gets. Maybe tomorrow! So I have had a bit of a look through the archive looking for an image to brighten up the day.

I shot this in Tasmania ages ago while investigating the delightful old stone fence in the scene which is not something you see very often these days. Primary colours, gotta love ém!

Myridi Bay

Myridi Bay-12-Edit

These are a couple of images of a place called Myridi Bay in Yampi Sd. The first one is some amazing cliffs that change colour as the sun sets on them. If you look closely you will see some bending in the rock strata. There are even more extreme examples around this area that make your jaw drop when you think about the forces involved!
The second image is what you see next morning on the other side of the inlet. Polarising filters come in handy up this way.
